9F Early Electrical Continuity

The picture shows the motor viewd fromt he left hand side. Higlighted in yellow is the bottom half of the motor showing the bush cap - which has a sprung tab folded back on itself - it is getting its connection through the chassis - which looks as though it has been painted !

Combined with the phosphor bronze pickups not touching the front wheels, the poor connections to the tender, and this conenction reying ont he contact through the painted chassis - it is not surprising that this loco 'runs intermittently'.  The surprise was that it runs at all !
