The Britannia body was later used with very little modification for
the 9F and the Evening Star.
Here showing the Britannia body, the 9F and Evening Star bodies.
Note the 9Fs have a small section of the body under the firebox that
has been trimmed away - presumably to accomodate the 5 driving
wheels on each side of the 9Fs.
And here showing the Evening Star above the Britannia for comparison.
Note that the tender on both models is identical.
And for completeness, here are some pictures of the 9F tender.
Front of tender resting above the tender weight. The tender body
can be lifted if a small screwdriver is pushed gently into the small
coal hatch hole. This presses against a plastic tab which
allows the front of the tender body to be lifted.
The pickup arrangement in the tender. See the 9F section of the
website for more details about this.
