Classic UK Minitrix Models  -  Scotsman
Introduction

The Flying Scotsman models were late additions to the Minitrix N-gauge range in 1988.  Although apparently instigated by Hornby, they never saw the finished models before they stopped their association with Minitrix. Instead the new Flying Scotsman models were marketed by Minitrix and came in the same clear plastic cases with the green/yellow Minitrix card liner.  #12949 and #12950 were available, the former being the British Rail Green 60103, while the latter showed off the Apple Green of loco number 4472 from the 1930s, and also after its restoration.

The Scotsman shares the same chassis as the A4 Gresley and Mallard and also the later Britannia.  Everything written about Mallard maintenance on this site also applies to the Scotsman.  The few links in the right menu on this page highlight the differences.
