Classic UK Minitrix Models - The A4 Class Introduction
And then after sitting in a box in the loft for many years, its re-introduction to a new layout showed that it had developed a wobble, and the wobble got worse, and then I tried to fix it. It never ran smoothly again. More recently I decided to make a more determined effort to mend it and in doing so I solved a multitude of little problems. The problem is that these machines are so small and so intricate, that a quick fix often causes other problems. A new approach - taking it to bits and cleaning and servicing each part, worked wonders. This mini site was originally dedicated to do with getting a Hornby Minitrix Mallard back into fully working condition again. At one point, this was the only set of pages on the site. Its grown a bit since then, as has my collection of these classic n-gauge models Please note that I have nothing to do with Trix, Minitrix or Märklin Inc. whose trademarks I respect and acknowledge. The information and opinions on this web site are my own and are provided as a record of my own experiences of maintaining a Minitrix model. They are not provided as a definitive instruction manual. |
