Close up of the tender. The twisted wires have been soldered, the joints cut short and covered with a short length of heat shrinkable clear tubing. The soldering iron shaft heats the tube enought to clamp it tight onto the wires. These wires will now lay flat when the tender body is put onto the chassis.

But I am going to have to redo the black pickup wire under the tender weight - I haven't left room for the brass weight that sits on the back. The black wire is probably long enough to allow me to rebend the phosphor bronze strip further back.
