Boadicea Conversion

The tender weight is held in place by four latches on stalks which hook onto the top of the metal weight. To replace the weight, it is threaded onto the four stalks and pushed down, until the stalks latch on. Getting the weight off is a bit more of a problem, however.

I find that if two stalk latches can be released then the other two are relatively easy. A small screwdriver resting as shown will help - the weight of the handle provides just enough leverage to try to rais the weight off the chassis. Something like a cocktail stick can be used to gently pry the latch on one side and then the other - alternately until one of them becomes free. If necessary, a little extra downward pressure on the screwdriver can be applied.
