Classic UK Minitrix Models - Lights Curing the Flicker
 |
Fit the light bulbs. Make sure the two contact and
retaining clips are clean. Alos clean the outside of
the grain of wheat bulb and lightly emery the metal contact
at the end of the bulb. |
 |
This is where the strips fit - but I find that over the
years, they no longer provide adequate spring, and the
contact is poor. |
 |
So get a small screwdriver above the place where the
bulb fits and press down... |
 |
Making a depression in the middle of the strip.
Ensure that the tabs on either side are pressed
against the chassis side, and that they have not
been bent outwards as you pressed down with the
screwdriver. |
 |
Put the bulb into place, and fit the clip.
The bulb is now firmly located and any
flicker caused by poor contact will have
been eliminated. |
